A Flame Arrestor is a static device which stops a flame entering into the storage tank or process vessel containing a flammable gas or vapour. An end -of-line type flame arrestor is fitted at the extreme downstream end of a pipeline.

The arrestor consists of a flame quenching element contained within a housing which incorporates thread or flange connections for fitting to pipework. The element is often of greater diameter than the pipework in order to compensate for pressure drop and therefore the housing is enlarged accordingly.

  • Superior Element Pack:
The specially woven gauze resistant stainless steel wire gauge in the element pack ensures controlled and reproducible aperture size, offering proven flame arresting capabilities with the required physical strength.
  • Extensive Flame Testing:
The flame arrestor undergoes thorough flame testing as per the standards (BS 7244-1990 and IS:11006-1984) at CMRI Testing Cell, Dhanbad, to ensure its effectiveness in fire and explosion prevention.
  • Exceptional Protection:
The NIRMAL Flame Arrestor provides outstanding protection against fire and explosion caused by external ignition sources, ensuring safety in hazardous environments.
  • Low Resistance Flow:
It offers effective flow with the lowest resistance (pressure drop) for flammable gases or vapors, optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Easy Inspection and Maintenance:
The arrestor’s reduced weight and simple element removal make inspection and maintenance quick and convenient.
  • Wide Range of Sizes:
The flame arrestor is available in a complete range of sizes, from ½ inch through 12 inches, with flat face or raised face flanges to match ANSI 150# connections (larger sizes available upon request).
