SH4-2 Series

The Series SH4 safety shut-off valve is a reliable device designed to rapidly block the flow of gas when the downstream pressure regulator fails and reaches the predetermined set pressure for intervention. This ensures the safety and integrity of the gas system by preventing any potential hazards or risks.

  • Tight Shut-Off Capability:
The valve is designed with a special trim that eliminates wear and erosion of the seating. This design ensures excellent tight shut-off capability, maintaining a reliable seal over the valve’s long working life.
  • Easy Maintenance:
Internal parts of the valve can be easily replaced without the need to dismantle the main valve body from the pipeline.
  • Manual Reset:
The valve features a lever mechanism for manual resetting. This allows authorized personnel to manually reset the valve after it has been closed, ensuring proper assessment and verification of system conditions before restoring gas flow.
  • Built-in Pressure Equalization:
The reset lever of the valve has a small opening that equalizes the pressure between the inlet and outlet of the valve. This eliminates the need for a separate bypass and helps to balance the pressures during the resetting process.
  • Local Position Indication:
The valve is equipped with an open/close position indicator dial, providing local visual indication of the slam shut device position.
  • Remote Signal Devices Option:
The SH4-2 slam shut-off valve can be equipped with remote signal devices, such as contact switches or proximity switches.
  • Compliance with Safety Standards:
The SH4-2 valve meets the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED/97/12/EC) and conforms to EN 14382 standards.
  • Body Size & Connections:
    Flanged Sizes: 1″, 1½”, 2″, 3″, 4″, 6″
    Flange Standard: ANSI B16.5
Flange Class Ratings: Class 150 & 300 (Higher ratings available upon request)
Accuracy Class (AC): Up to 1.0 (according to EN 14382)
  • Response Time:
    Less than 1 second
  • Allowable Line Pressure:
    ANSI 150#: Maximum 19.0 Barg
    ANSI 300#: Maximum 48.0 Barg

  • Maximum Flow Capacities:
The capacity calculation should be referred to determine the maximum flow capacities of the specific valve.
  • Temperature Capabilities:
-20°C to 60°C (extended temperature ranges can be available upon request)
  • Pressure Setting Adjustment:
The pressure setting can be adjusted within a spring range by turning the adjusting screw of the pilot.
  • Pressure Registration:
The pressure registration is external and is taken from the downstream control line.
